In this video, I’ll walk you through a complete MyMusicStaff setup. In my last post, I outlined why I love MyMusicStaff after being a customer for nine years.

There are so many features, customizations and settings on MyMusicStaff, which makes it such a great tool for piano teachers! But it also means the MyMusicStaff setup process can be a little daunting.

That is exactly why I wanted to create a tutorial to help you walk through the first essential steps to get you started. Later, you can explore everything MyMusicStaff has to offer.

Why Choose MyMusicStaff?

Before diving into the setup process, let’s briefly discuss why MyMusicStaff is a fantastic choice for music educators. MyMusicStaff is an all-in-one studio management platform that allows you to manage your schedule, track student progress, handle payments, and more—all from one convenient dashboard.

MyMusicStaff Setup Steps

Here is a summary of the steps needed to get you set up on MyMusicStaff. I walk through all of these steps in the tutorial video:

  1. Sign up for MyMusicStaff (free for 30 days)
  2. Enter your first students into MyMusicStaff
  3. Schedule your first lessons on the calendar
  4. Create your first invoices
  5. Set up payments
  6. Customize invoices and emails
  7. Set up cancellation policy & make-up credits
  8. Miscellaneous settings
  9. Expenses & tax reports
  10. Create a news post
  11. Enter partner/group lessons

As you set up your MyMusicStaff account, you’ll notice more menu tabs and settings, but I suggest sticking with these steps initially. As you use MyMusicStaff on a daily basis to schedule and organize your piano lessons, you’ll learn which settings you’d like to add or tweak along the way.
